1. Fire resistance
Because gypsum itself is a refractory material, gypsum board can also resist fire for up to four hours. The reason behind this is the presence of water in gypsum products. When water comes into contact with fire, it begins to evaporate. It helps the circuit board form a protective layer that helps prevent the fire from spreading over a period of time.

2. Non-combustible
When drywall comes into contact with fire, it initiates a process called calcining. Calcination refers to the process of dewatering the sheet to help it form an additional layer. It keeps the walls non-combustible for a few hours and maintains a normal temperature at all times.

3. Acoustic characteristic
Drywall is essentially soundproof to a certain extent. These are more effective than traditional walls of the same thickness. This is because they contain sound interruptions and reduce reverberation.
For example, drywall of around 60 mm is just as effective in soundproofing as masonry walls of 85 mm. The user also has the option to use soundproof drywall, which further improves performance.

4. Thermal performance
The drywall contains crystalline water. They also contain cavities that enable the user to achieve the proper balance of humidity and temperature. If fiberglass is included, it will further prevent fire, as fiberglass helps keep the board intact. Additional insulation acts as a steam barrier, helping to control indoor humidity.
